Mike Heimburger - Music & Audio

ABOUT
Mike Heimburger grew up surrounded by music of all kinds, from 4-part
Barbershop harmony to Rock and Country. But it was listening to the soundtracks
of John Williams and James Horner that first stirred his passion for film music.

Mike began creating short films and composing their scores in Junior High.
In High School, Mike co-founded Second Tuesday Productions and created and scored his first feature length animated film, "The Adventures of Oog and Og."

While attending Alma College, Mike produced and scored a live-action Horror/Comedy, "Fowl Play." On the heels of this Mike starred in and scored music for the short film, "Blood Runs Cold," which won Best Short Fiction and Best In Show at the Central Michigan International Film Festival.

Mike also played keyboards, bass, and guitar in several performing rock bands while living in Michigan and Iowa, including Mistreated, Holy Grail, Holiday Road, Loft Lizards, as well as founding the Dream Theater tribute band Metropolis.

Mike and his four children now live in Sparks, Nevada. Mike has worked with the Beyond Skyrim modding project composing new music for the province of Argonia (Black Marsh). Mike has also worked with the Minecraft Middle Earth team creating Lord of the Rings inspired music for exploring Middle Earth.

Mike is currently working on an as yet unnamed original fantasy video game project, writing the story, modeling the characters, recording audio, and composing music. He is currently writing another piece for the composition competition hosted by the Reno Pops Orchestra. And he is in the middle of rescoring his first film, The Adventures of Oog and Og, which entails not only rescoring all music, but re-recording all audio and narration, and re-edits of every scene.
